A race in D.C has been postponed due to the federal shutdown. Organizers of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon hope lawmakers have their act together by November 10th. That’s the new date of the race that was scheduled to be held this Sunday. Event director Steve Nearman says security and staffing concerns caused the postponement. Nearman says in addition to affecting runners, the delay will have an impact on the wallets of those who work in that area. The 13.1-mile race benefits several non-profit organizations and is sanctioned by USA Track and Field.
