The political arm of a local teachers’ association is recommending candidates for the fall elections in Albemarle County. The Albemarle Political Action Committee on Education wants to see Democrats win all three Board of Supervisors ‘ races in the places where both major parties are fielding candidates. A-PACE wants to see Liz Palmer replace Vice-Chairman Duane Snow in the Samuel Miller District, and it prefers Brad Sheffield over Rodney Thomas in the Rio District. The committee also likes Democrat Jane Dittmar in the Scottsville District’s special election clash with Republican Cindy Burket. A-PACE also favors school board member Diantha McKeel over fellow Independent Phillip Seay in the Jack Jouett District. It’s also recommending Kate Acuff to be the next Jack Jouett representative on the Albemarle School Board.
