City police are investigating three robberies and robbery attempts in the downtown business district. The first crime involved a violent attack early Saturday on East Market Street near Lee Park. Police are searching for two African-American males in their 20’s who beat up a 51-year-old man while they were trying to rob him. There were two robberies that involved a single suspect Saturday night and early Sunday. A 21-year-old man was robbed of his cash at around 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Jefferson Street. A little over two hours later, someone robbed a man and woman on 2nd Street N.E. and fled with their money and belongings. There were no injuries in the two most recent incidents.
