Charlottesville Police hope you can help to solve a recent crime that occurred on a side street in the downtown business district. A U.S. Army reservist heard what sounded like a woman in distress early on the morning of July 20th in the 200-block of 3rd Street N.E. He told police he found a man and woman who were having a dispute, and he asked the woman if she needed help. Investigators say the man who had been arguing with the woman suddenly stabbed the victim, and the two parties to the dispute fled the scene in a light colored minivan. The victim was treated for serious injuries, but he’s now been released from a local hospital.
