A winter storm watch is in effect from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday. In our region it covers Charlottesville, Albemarle, Greene, Madison, Nelson, Orange, Culpeper, Augusta and Rockingham. The National Weather Service says there’s the potential for snow that could start as a period of sleet. The weather service says the potential is the greatest south of Interstate-66 in Northern Virginia. Areas to the north of Charlottesville could get five or more inches of snow.
