(Washington, DC) – The Nationals jumped out to a 6-0 lead behind a Adam LaRoche three-run homer and held on for a 7-5 win in the first of three games at Nationals Park. Rafael Soriano allowed the winning run to get to the plate in bottom of the ninth, but induced a ground out by Martin Prado for his 20th save. Gio Gonzalez improved to 4-and-3 as Washington ended a two-game losing streak. Paul Goldschmidt had three hits and an RBI, while Martin Prado was 2-for-4 with a solo homer for the D’backs. Trevor Cahill took the loss. Arizona has dropped two in-a-row.
