Some Minnesotans are not rolling out the welcome mat for the Washington Redskins, the NFL franchise that many Virginians count as their own. Some members of native American tribes attended a recent meeting of the board that oversees the Bloomington, Minnesota stadium where the Vikings play their home games. One Minnesotan told the board that western movie star John Wayne is dead, and he doesn’t want the Vikings to host what he called little red Sambo. The stadium board will not intervene in the dispute between some tribes and those who manage Washington’s NFL team.
