Monticello Wraps Up Another Heritage Harvest Festival

Monticello welcomed many lovers of organic food during the Heritage Harvest Festival. The yearly event promotes local agriculture and reminds people Thomas Jefferson had a reputation as a founding “foodie.” Throughout his 83 years, Jefferson devoted a lot of time to growing vegetables and other items. This year’s festival added a musical element.  One special guest was Jorma Kaukenon, the guitaraist for the 1960’s San Francisco band Jefferson Airplane.
