McDonnell Ratings At New Low

Governor Bob McDonnell’s popularity has dropped to a new low. According to a “Washington Post” poll, 49-percent of Virginia voters approve of the job McDonnell is doing. That’s down from a term high of 64-percent in May. Thirty-nine-percent do not approve of the governor’s performance. The lower approval numbers come amid a scandal in which McDonnell and his family received tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and money from the CEO of a dietary supplement company. The poll also indicates that fewer than half of the state’s registered voters say the governor has “high personal and moral ethical standards.”
