Democrat Terry McAuliffe entered June with a big cash advantage over Republican Ken Cuccinelli. That’s the bottom line from new campaign finance reports from the two candidates for Governor. McAuliffe’s cash-on-hand totals $5.4 million, and Cucinnelli’s total is $2.7 million. The fundraising figures for some Attorney General candidates are a lot closer. State Senator Mark Herring (D-Leesburg) has cash-on-hand that exceeds $229,000, and the figure for State Senator Mark Obenshain (R-Harrisonburg) is roughly $219,000. Justin Fairfax, who’s battling Herring in the June 11th Democratic primary for Attorney General, had under $100,000 at the end of May. The candidates for Lieutenant Governor and the House of Delegates have also filed new campaign finance totals.
