Man Jailed Here Faces Murder Charges In Maryland

A man who’s accused of leading local police on a high-speed chase from Waynesboro to Albemarle County is a suspect in last fall’s murder of a Maryland teenager.    Baltimore Police have issued arrest warrants for 29-year-old Jonathan Woodard.     He’s accused of murdering 16-year-old Daniel Pearson last November on a Baltimore street.    Woodard and 31-year-old Shannon Burton of Waynesboro were arrested June 5th following a chase that began in the Shenandoah Valley and ended on Plank Road in Albemarle.    Police found five children who are 10 years old or younger in the vehicle with Woodard and Burton.    The two men have been in the Regional Jail after being charged with five felony counts of child endangerment.
