An Albemarle County man accepted a plea agreement for charges from a road racing crash. 25-year-old Thomas Clayton Appleton of Crozet was racing 18-year-old Samuel Taylor on Garth Road on September 5, 2012 when the cars hit and Taylor died. Appleton was facing one count of racing resulting in death and one count of felony hit-and-run stemming from the crash. The felony hit-and-run charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement. Appleton will be back in court for sentencing on December 18.
