The Madison County schools will hold classes Tuesday, but the staff is on heightened alert. Madison School Superintendent Matt Eberhardt says there’s been a conflict between two school system workers, and he feared there might have been a confrontation. That’s why the schools were closed on Monday. Eberhardt has told the Madison County Eagle one unnamed employee has been formally charged with a crime. That worker has been suspended and told to keep away from the Madison schools. Eberhardt says the Madison County Sheriff’s Office will provide an increased presence on school property for several days. He has also apologized for disrupting family schedules.
