There will be a protest rally in D.C. that has nothing to do with the recent shutdown of the federal government. City Councilor Dave Norris (pictured) says many area residents fear they are losing their civil liberties. They will join the Stop Watching Us rally that starts at noon Saturday at the U.S. Capitol. Norris says the organizers picked October 26th to coincide with the 12th anniversary of Congress approving the Patriot Act. The legislation had bipartisan support in the wake of the September 11th, 2001 attacks on New York’s World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and a terrorist incident in western Pennsylvania.
