A Marine Corps officer who’s now living in Charlottesville has received a Bronze Star for his service last year in Afghanistan. Captain Daniel O’Brien was honored Monday night at the Judge Advocate General School at the University of Virginia. O’Brien’s accomplishments include leading more than 150 Marines during Operation Reservoir Dogs One in May 2012. O’Brien comes from a military family and his father was a Marine Colonel. His wife Morgan is now part of a fellowship at UVA’s Emily Couric Cancer Center. O’Brien plans to begin law school this fall at the University of Richmond.
