The Libertarian Party’s nominee for Governor wants Virginia’s Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to lose its law enforcement powers. Robert Sarvis (pictured with his wife, son and daughter) believes the Commonwealth should get out of the liquor business and let local police and sheriffs’ departments enforce Virginia’s liquor laws. The Annandale resident has also blasted the ABC agents who conducted an April 11th sting operation outside the Harris-Teeter grocery store at the Barracks Road Shopping Center. John Taylor and other agents confronted UVA student Elizabeth Daly and her sorority sisters after they bought a case of LaCroix sparkling water, and some ice cream and cookie dough. They suspected the women had made underage purchases of alcohol. Sarvis was a Monday guest on the Schilling Show.
