Four lesbians are waiting to see if a federal judge accepts their legal challenge to the Virginia ban on same-sex marriages. Two women who were married in D.C. and now live in Winchester believe a 2006 constitutional amendment has created a hardship for them. Rebecca Glenberg of the ACLU is working with that couple and a pair of Staunton lesbians who tell a similar story. Lawyers for the two lesbian couples outlined their requests this week at a federal courthouse in Harrisonburg. Judge Michael Urbanski says he will issue his ruling in a few weeks.
