Thousands of local volunteers will get together Wednesday for the Laurence E. Richardson Day of Caring. They will help out more than 100 schools and regional agencies that need a cleanup, a fresh coat of paint, or landscaping help. Burley Middle School (pictured) got some help during a past Day of Caring. The United Way- Thomas Jefferson Area oversees a September tradition that began in the early 1990’s, and honors the late Larry Richardson. He was the owner of WINA from 1970 until his death in 1999.
