Kiplinger’s Has Advice For College-Bound Students

A personal finance advisor has suggestions for Virginia parents who are taking their children to college for the first time. Janet Bodner of Kiplinger’s is not a fan of credit cards fofr 18-year-olds, and suggests it’s better for them to get used to managing their cash first.  Bodner says first-year students should try to find banks that don’t have monthly service charges for checking accounts. UVA is preparing for Saturday’s annual invasion of the first-year students.
