Some residents of Keene and Esmont don’t want the Albemarle supervisors to create a convenience center for solid waste in their end of the county. Hal West says the Keene area is not a good candidate for this type of facility. Ed Brooks of Esmont hopes the county will look closer to the city, such as the Mill Creek area. The supervisors have agreed to hold a public hearing on this issue. They have not set a date for a hearing. Mark Graham (pictured) and other county staffers have been looking for acceptable sites.
