Judge Dismisses Request To Subpoena Attorney General

A Richmond judge who oversees the trial of a former chef at the Executive Mansion has dismissed a request to subpoena Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. Circuit Judge Margaret Spencer ruled against attorney Steve Benjamin, whose client is accused of felony embezzlement. Benjamin represents Todd Schneider, who says he did not steal food from the mansion (pictured), and describes himself as a whistle blower against Governor McDonnell and his family. Cuccinelli had a special prosecutor assigned to the case to avoid what he described as a possible conflict of interest. The judge agreed with the special prosecutor that there’s no reason to dismiss the indictment of Schneider.
