Item Involving City Schools Shortfall Gets Yanked From Council Agenda

The Charlottesville School Board has been requesting nearly $140,000 to cover a shortfall, but the item was taken off the City Council agenda. Mayor Satyendra Huja announced the last-minute change Monday evening. Colette Hall (pictured) of Robertson Lane wonders why the school system pays Superintendent Rosa Atkins more than the Governor. The council has already helped out the school system with other expenses. Buford Middle School and Charlottesville High School are getting new science labs.
