State Police are investigating the crash of a small plane near Tappahannock in Essex County. Police say 54-year-old Paul Boulden and three passengers escaped without injuries after they used an emergency parachute. The single-engine plane had engine problems and it crashed shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday. Boulden is from Hanover County, and his passengers were from Richmond, Henrico County, and Fairfax. The plane was owned by a company that’s based in Henrico, and the four men were flying back to Hanover County from the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
