The embattled new principal of Fluvanna County Middle School has met with many of her critics, and she got some backup from the school division’s superintendent. FCMS Principal Yardley Farquharson had a Thursday meet-and-greet with parents. It happened one day after some critics gave the Fluvanna School Board petitions that call for Farquharson to lose her job. Superintendent Gena Keller (pictured) also spoke to the same group. Keller discussed the situation with Jay James on “Charlottesville…Right Now.” Farquharson says he’s willing to meet with parents one-on-one. Some parents have accused her of being a loud-mouthed bully who terrorized students on the first day of school. They have compared Farquharson to a drill sergeant or a prison guard. Keller says she has no regrets about hiring Farquharson, who used to be a principal in Petersburg.
