A lot of money could be made and the product is not dirt-cheap. That’s an idea that City Councilor-elect Bob Fenwick (pictured) wants to push as a way to raise money without raising taxes. Fenwick says the city could bag and sell the dirt that’s settled at the bottom of the Rivanna Reservoir. He says people pay top dollar for similar products at the home improvement stores. Fenwick says that sediment could be bagged and sold, and what he calls Rivanna Gold could bring a good price. Fenwick also wants to look into reopening the composting piles at the Rivanna Authority and sell that.
