Virginia’s dive and recovery squads kept busy over the holiday weekend. One Chesterfield County team found the body of a 36-year-old Petersburg man who drowned in the Appomattox River. Police say a dive team found the body of Brian Ziegelbauer late Saturday afternoon. Two members of a Prince William County family drowned on the Fourth of July. A team recovered the bodies of 40-year-old Grace Darlene Shields and her six-year-old daughter Raina from a man-made lake near Dale City. Prince William authorities say the husband of Grace Shields is a soldier who’s stationed in South Korea. Child Protective Services is taking care of the family’s nine-year-old daughter, who has a developmental disability. Prince William Police Officer Mark Merriman says the girl may be the only witness to the deaths of her mother and younger sister.
