Representatives of Dominion Virginia Power say Hurricane Isabel taught them valuable lessons a decade ago. Isabel went on a rampage across Virginia on September 18th and 19th, 2003. Dominion Vice-President Rodney Blevins calls Isabel the most destructive storm in the utility’s history. The storm toppled many trees that dated back to Colonial times. It also wrecked thousands of private homes, boats, piers and communications systems. Several dozen Virginians died because of problems with generators after the storm.
