The Republican nominee for Governor got some campaign help Wednesday from one of the GOP’s rising stars. Ken Cuccinelli (pictured right) was joined by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (pictured left) during a swing through Albemarle County. Cuccinelli predicts Virginians will pay more attention to the Governor’s race now that a partial shutdown of the federal government is ending. You can hear Cuccinelli’s brief remarks by clicking on the button at the bottom of this article. Governor Haley says it’s important to South Carolina and other right-to-work states that Cuccinelli win Virginia’s highest office on November 5th. Haley says Democrat Terry McAuliffe gets most of his support from unions. Some local Democrats held an event earlier Wednesday where they criticized Cuccinelli’s record on women’s issues, including reproductive freedom.
