The Albemarle schools could use a new crystal ball as they try to figure out what will happen in 2014. Superintendent Pam Moran (pictured) says the Commonwealth will devise a new formula that involves the perceived wealth of counties and cities. Virginia computes a new local composite index (LCI) every two years or so, and it always has an impact on area school systems. It dictates how many dollars every county and city will get from Richmond. Moran also expects to get more information soon about the Virginia Retirement System.
