County Plans Many Uses For Future Library

Albemarle officials want to find many uses for the future Northside Library. Renovated spaces on West Rio Road will serve the regional library system and the Albemarle government. The county plans to abandon a part of the old Comdial building on 29 North that’s currently being rented. The county’s Trevor Henry says school officials are interested in moving the adult classes of the English as a Second Language program to the future Library. You can hear Henry’s comments by clicking the button at the bottom of this article. There are sketches that show the future library (pictured). The current Northside Library is in the Albemarle Square Shopping Center.
