Council Wants Governor And House Committee To Investigate ABC

City Councilors want Governor McDonnell and a General Assembly commitee to investigate an ABC sting that led to the overnight jailing of a University of Virginia student. They believe the Governor and the House Militia, Police and Public Safety Committee should investigate the April 11th incident outside the Harris Teeter store in the Barracks Road Shopping Center. They note the City Police were not informed before a sting where UVA student Elizabeth Daly was arrested with a case of sparkling water and some cookie dough. All charges against Daly have now been dropped. Councilor Dave Norris (pictured) has a Facebook page that refers to the sting as overzealous law enforcement.
