City Councilors have approved a master plan for a park that goes from the Morton Drive area to the Greenbrier neighborhood. It’s a 42-acre site that will include trails, a playing field, a site for frisbee golf and a playground. Brian Daly (pictured) heads the Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Department. Chris Gensic, who oversees the trails, has briefed the council on the master plan. The council has also approved an updated plan for complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act. That’s a 1990 federal law that requires better access for people with physical limitations. The councilors have also approved a one-year lease extension for the McGuffey Arts Center.
