Conservationists: Stay Out Of Rivanna River After Heavy Rain

The Rivanna River is something you want to stay out of after a heavy rain due to high bacteria levels.     That word of caution comes from the Rivanna Conservation Society, and it applies to the river and the creeks that feed into it.    The society’s Jack Brown says the Rivanna (pictured) after a heavy rain is not safe for either humans or pets.     Bacteria levels are especially high in Lodge Creek that drains into Moores Creek, and then flows into the Rivanna.
