Civil Rights Leader And Pastor Reginald Johnson Has Died

A longtime advocate of civil rights has passed away. Reverend Reginald Johnson died Thursday at a local hospital. Bishop Rufus Hayes, who worked with Johnson to get more African-American cashiers at a white-owned grocery store, says he misses his longtime friend already. The 92-year-old Johnson was the pastor of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Reginald Johnson and his brother William frequently appeared before local school boards to speak up for black teachers.
