City officials say students who get school lunches are having healthier meals this semester. Assistant Superintendent Jim Henderson says school cafeteria workers are adding more salads, and offering fresh bread. City School Board member Willa Neale has heard from some high school kids who want lunches with more calories. Henderson notes several city schools are recycling food wastes. He says composting will start soon at Charlottesville High School.
