City Council Okays Some Changes For CAT

City Councilors will let Charlottesville Area Transit create a new Route 11 that will serve Albemarle County’s urban ring, and tweak the frequency of Route 7 buses which travel between downtown and Fashion Square.    Lena Saville, who lives in Belmont, wants to see more buses going to Pantops Shopping Center and Martha Jefferson Hospital.    Albemarle resident Nancy Carpenter wants CAT to be flexible with riders who stay on the buses for several loops around the city.   CAT officials plan to meet with frequent bus riders later this month.    The city-owned bus system and the University Transit Service traditionally make their schedule changes on the August weekend when new UVA students arrive on Grounds.
