Rival candidates for Lieutenant Governor had a Tuesday night showdown in Arlington County. Chesapeake Republican E.W. Jackson noted some recent mass murderers had mental illnesses, and he’s suggesting some people are getting out of institutions when they shouldn’t be. His opponent, State Senator Ralph Northam (D- Norfolk) says Jackson’s recent remarks about yoga, gays and lesbians are offensive to him. A recent survey by the Washington Post gives Northam a slight advantage in this race. It shows Northam leading Jackson 45-42% with nearly 13% of the voters being undecided.
