Firms Want Second Look At Project That Might Take Parking

The owners of Beer Run have told Charlottesville’s elected leaders they don’t want to lose any parking spaces. They want the city to re-examine a multi-use trail project affecting Meade Avenue and the Woolen Mills neighborhood that might take away dozens of on-street spaces. Josh Hunt says Beer Run is a business that works for Meade Avenue. Councilwoman Dede Smith lives near the JPA Bridge, and says she understands the plight of these businesses. Smith and her fellow councilors will discuss the project on July 1st.
