The possibility of an armed police force is under consideration at Piedmont Virginia Community College. Piedmont president Frank Friedman wants the College Board to think along those lines. Friedman is getting feedback from various groups at the school to see what they think about it. He says other community colleges have taken the step.
Friedman says an armed police force would require training, therefore more money would have to be spent. He says any move in that direction would take at least a year.
