Area Residents Provide Feedback On Long Range Transportation

Local residents are sounding off on the region’s Long Range Transportation Plan. Randy Saltzman opposes the Route 29 Western Bypass, and questions business leaders in Lynchburg and Danville who favor it. Albemarle resident Nancy Carpenter can’t back projects that promote suburban sprawl. The Long Range Transportation Plan is not limited to major roadways such as Route 29 (pictured). It also focuses on mass transit, railroads, and bicycles. County Supervisor Ann Mallek says she has constituents in the Crozet area who want to commute to the Charlottesville area using mass transit. The local Metropolitan Planning Organization will discuss the region’s transportation projects at 4 p.m. on September 25th.
