Area Developer Admits Tax Fraud

A local developer has pleaded guilty to tax fraud. 60-year-old Michael Wayne Harding of Keswick admitted to a judge in Charlottesville federal court that he evaded paying income taxes for 2007. Harding pleaded guilty earlier this year to other fraud charges. The maximum penalty would be five years in prison and a $100,000 fine. Harding will be sentenced in September.
