Some work is going on at the McLean House in Appomattox. That’s where Robert E. Lee surrendered to Ulysses Grant in April 1865 to end the Civil War. The front porch is getting some new floorboards, and some cracked and broken window panes are being replaced. The onetime home of Wilmer McLean (pictured) is a Virginia historic site.
