Albemarle Man Confronts County Police At Checkpoint

An Albemarle County man got hot under the collar after police officers demanded to see his driver’s license during a daytime checkpoint on Old Brook Road. Joe Draego had a confrontation with officers on Thursday afternoon, and then described it Friday on The Schilling Show. The 60-year-old Draego told host Rob Schilling he refused to comply with the officer’s demand because he had not committed any crime. He also returned a short time later with a sign that read “This is how it started in Nazi Germany…police state checkpoints.”
