Albemarle County has an updated list of potential school projects, and the top item is an overcrowded elementary school. An expansion of Agnor-Hurt Elementary School is already being designed. The constuction is slated to start in 2014. More than 100 students who attended Agnor-Hurt in the spring have already been reassigned to other elementary schools. It’s one of the places where kids have been taking classes in trailers. You will also find trailers at Red Hill Elementary in North Garden. Joe Letteri, who oversees the division’s capital projects, is also considering renovations for high schools. His list of potential projects includes the kitchen and front entrance areas of Western Albemarle High School (pictured).
